Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch set the stage for the semi final event of the Redline Time Attack Series. The Gruppe S Team took off to the track late Friday night and began prepping for the long weekend. The team worked hard all weekend to make sure it was a good race, and with Dez's spirited driving style and Hankook Racing Slicks they secured the 3rd Place Win in the Unlimited AWD Class.

This Lancer Evolution X is a long term project car for one of our customers and is stock other than a Greddy TiC Exhaust System. We tuned the car on a Mustang AWD Floor Dyno.

The baseline run for the car was:
248 WHP
246 lb/tq

After being tuned by Dynamic Autosport's Jason the final numbers were:
280 WHP
298 lb/tq

Total Gain: 32 Whp and 52 lb/tq. Tuning at Gruppe S is $150 an hour and we are available for appoinments.

That is one big turbo.

Today at Gruppe-S at one point or another each employee talked by it and had to stop to look at it and ask what it was for. You could fit a fist in the intake side of this thing...

Dez Ballard time attack driver and his 2008 Subaru Sti get outfitted

This should really help him slow the car down in the corners with all

Another week closer to the "Final Fight" the last round of the Formula Drift 2009 Season @ Irwindale Speedway. Just to give you an update at the going on here at Gruppe-S, we pulled the Transmission on our RWD Converted Drift STi to do some minor changes and refresh some parts.

From the miniature garage at our friends @ HPI Racing, this is a sneak preview of one of their new builds. In a little less than a month HPI Racing will be offering a Drift RC version of our Formula Drift Competition car. After strong performaces at 6 Formula Drift Events, the Hankook Tire / Gruppe S Drift 350Z gets an engine refresh. In preparation for the Formula Drift Finale @ Irwindale Speedway, Gruppe S Master Tech Adam Depner, pulled the Turbo Charged VQ to be completely rebuilt, refreshed and cleaned from top to bottom. Irwindale is a track favorite for Robbie "Bushido" Nishida, so with a fresh car, the finale should be a great event for the Hankook Drift Team.
